Meet Kimberly Key, PhD—Creator of SoulResilience™
Where Evidence Meets Essence
Welcome!
Throughout my career, I've been fascinated by one question:
What helps people heal, grow, and thrive—even in the face of conflict, loss, burnout, trauma, and profound change?
As an integrative psychologist, consultant, and researcher, I've spent decades helping individuals, families, leaders, and organizations navigate trauma, crisis, grief, family and generational wounds, systemic conflict, burnout, and major life transitions.
Over time, I noticed something important.
Many people made their greatest breakthroughs not simply through insight, strategy, or information, but when they reconnected to the deeper pain—and purpose—their soul had been quietly whispering.
The soul longed to be heard, seen, and trusted.
Yet in a world increasingly shaped by technology, speed, performance, and mechanistic thinking, many people experience a deeper form of suffering that often goes unnamed.
I call it soul starvation.
When the soul is forgotten, something essential is lost. People become disconnected from meaning, purpose, intuition, and one another. Systems designed to support human flourishing can lose touch with their original purpose. Fragmentation grows.
As nature abhors a vacuum, what is neglected seeks expression elsewhere.
Soul starvation can create a deep psychological split—opening the door to spiritual bypassing, religious abuse, hidden manipulation, and other attempts to fill what has not been truly nourished.
This realization led me to conduct research and create SoulResilience™.
SoulResilience™ bridges the gap between mechanistic medicine and spiritual bypassing. It is grounded in neuroscience, psychology, trauma-informed care, systems thinking, and integrative health research—addresssing the human and systemic conditions beneath conflict, burnout, and destabilizing change while helping organizations transform into Integrative SoulResilience™ Systems.
Throughout my journey, I encountered the same truth:
When the deeper human essence—the soul—is overlooked, suffering grows and systems struggle.
Today, I am a contributing writer for Psychology Today, author of Ten Keys to Staying Empowered in a Power Struggle (Second Edition) and The Remembered Soul: Sacred Healing in a Forgetful World, and publisher of SoulLetters on Substack.
